DongChannel respects the privacy of its readers and aims to be transparent about how information is handled when you visit or interact with this website.

DongChannel is an independent website operated by:

This Privacy Policy explains the types of information that may be processed in connection with DongChannel, why that information may be used, when third parties may process information, and what choices may be available to you.

Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information processed in connection with:

  • Visits to dongchannel.com.
  • Communications sent directly to DongChannel.
  • Website security and technical operation.
  • Affiliate links and related referral activity where applicable.
  • Other website features that expressly refer to this Privacy Policy.

This policy does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites, merchants, affiliate networks or services that you may visit through external links.

When you leave DongChannel, the privacy policy of the destination website applies to that website’s processing activities.

Information You Provide Directly

DongChannel may receive personal information when you voluntarily contact us.

For example, if you send an email, the information received may include:

  • Your name, if you provide it.
  • Your email address.
  • Your company or organization, if you provide it.
  • The content of your message.
  • Any information you voluntarily include in an attachment or correspondence.

We use this information to understand and respond to your enquiry, correction request, partnership enquiry, privacy request or other legitimate communication.

Please do not send passwords, full payment card details, government identification numbers or other highly sensitive credentials unless there is a clear and necessary reason to do so.

Information Processed When You Visit the Website

Like most websites, the technical systems used to host, deliver and protect DongChannel may automatically process standard technical information when a page is requested.

Depending on the hosting, server, CDN, security and website configuration in use, this may include information such as:

  • IP address.
  • Date and time of the request.
  • Requested URL.
  • Browser or user-agent information.
  • Referring page or website.
  • HTTP status or error information.
  • General device or network information needed to deliver and secure the website.

This information may be processed for purposes such as:

  • Delivering website pages.
  • Maintaining website availability.
  • Detecting errors.
  • Preventing abuse.
  • Protecting website security.
  • Diagnosing technical problems.
  • Understanding operational performance.

DongChannel does not treat standard server or security logs as a license to build detailed personal profiles of readers.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

DongChannel may use cookies or similar technologies when they are necessary for website functionality, security, preferences or other features that are actually enabled on the website.

Some third-party services may also use cookies or similar technologies when they are loaded or when you interact with them.

The exact cookies in use can change when website features, plugins or third-party services change.

For more detailed information about cookies used by DongChannel, please see our Cookie Policy.

Non-essential cookies and similar technologies are not activated until you consent to them. How that consent is asked for and recorded is described below.

How Consent Is Managed

DongChannel uses Complianz to ask for and record your cookie choices. The consent banner offers four categories — functional, preferences, statistics and marketing — and nothing beyond the strictly necessary category runs until you make a choice.

DongChannel currently applies the same United Kingdom based consent configuration — UK GDPR, PECR and the Data Protection Act — to all visitors, wherever they are, rather than varying it by location.

DongChannel also respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser.

Your choice is stored in first-party cookies, which are listed in the Cookie Policy. You can change or withdraw it at any time using the consent controls on this website.

Analytics

DongChannel uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people read the site and which articles are useful. The measurement identifier for this website is G-B443KBRT67.

Google Analytics runs only if you consent to the statistics category. Until you do, the Google Analytics script is neither run nor downloaded, and no request is sent to Google. This was checked directly, in a browser that had never visited the site: no cookies existed, and every network request the page made went to dongchannel.com itself.

If you do consent, Google Analytics processes information such as the pages you view, your browser and device type, and how you arrived at the site.

Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses for visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Union and Switzerland. Elsewhere, IP handling follows Google’s published Analytics documentation. IP information may be used to derive approximate geographic information during processing.

For this website’s Analytics property:

  • A data processing amendment with Google has been accepted.
  • Google Signals is switched off.
  • Sharing Analytics data with other Google products and services is switched off.

Google Analytics is the only third-party service this website loads, and it is loaded only after consent. If another service is added in future, this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated in the same change.

Affiliate Links

Some content on DongChannel may contain affiliate links.

If you click an affiliate link and later complete a qualifying action, DongChannel may receive a commission or referral fee.

Affiliate attribution is often performed by the merchant or affiliate network. Depending on the program, those third parties may use:

  • Cookies.
  • Referral identifiers.
  • Link parameters.
  • Other attribution technologies.

The merchant or affiliate network controls its own tracking methods, retention periods and privacy practices.

DongChannel does not control how an external merchant processes your information after you leave this website.

Please review the privacy information provided by the relevant merchant or affiliate network when appropriate.

For more information about our commercial relationships, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

DongChannel Click Tracking

Affiliate links on DongChannel do not point straight at the merchant. They first pass through an address on this website that looks like dongchannel.com/go/…, which then forwards you to the destination.

That step records one entry in a log stored on DongChannel’s own hosting. Each entry may contain:

  • The date and time of the click.
  • Which product the link referred to.
  • Which page the link was clicked from.
  • Where on the page the link appeared.
  • A campaign or sub-identifier, where one is used.
  • The address of the referring page.
  • A broad device category, such as desktop, mobile or tablet.
  • A one-way hash derived from your IP address.

Your IP address itself is not stored. The hash is calculated from the address together with a secret value held by the website and the current date. It cannot be turned back into an IP address, and the same visitor produces a different hash on a different day.

No cookie is set by this redirect, and no name, email address or account is involved. The purpose is to understand which recommendations readers find useful.

These records are deleted automatically after 90 days by a scheduled task. Nothing in the click log is kept beyond that period.

Contact and Business Communications

If you contact DongChannel regarding:

  • Reader questions.
  • Corrections.
  • Product information.
  • Affiliate partnerships.
  • Business opportunities.
  • Privacy requests.
  • Technical problems.

we may retain the correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Respond to the request.
  • Maintain an appropriate record of the communication.
  • Resolve disputes or follow-up questions.
  • Protect legitimate business or legal interests.

Information should not be retained indefinitely without a reasonable purpose.

How We Use Information

Where relevant, information processed through DongChannel may be used to:

  • Operate and maintain the website.
  • Deliver requested website content.
  • Respond to communications.
  • Investigate technical issues.
  • Maintain security and prevent abuse.
  • Correct or update published information.
  • Administer legitimate affiliate or business relationships.
  • Understand and improve website operations where appropriate.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.
  • Establish, exercise or defend legal rights where necessary.

DongChannel should not collect personal information merely because it may be useful at some undefined point in the future.

Lawful Processing

The legal basis for processing personal information depends on the activity and the privacy law that applies.

Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on grounds such as:

  • Your consent.
  • The steps necessary to respond to a request you make.
  • Legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the website.
  • Compliance with a legal obligation.
  • Establishing, exercising or defending legal rights.

Where consent is the required legal basis, withdrawing consent should be possible in accordance with applicable law.

This section does not mean every legal basis applies to every processing activity.

Service Providers

DongChannel may rely on third-party service providers to operate the website.

Depending on the services actually configured, providers may support functions such as:

  • Website hosting.
  • Domain name services.
  • Content delivery.
  • Security.
  • Backups.
  • Email.
  • Website maintenance.
  • Analytics, if enabled.
  • Other infrastructure necessary to operate the site.

These providers may process limited information on DongChannel’s behalf or under their own applicable terms.

One request of this kind happens automatically: author profile images are served by the Gravatar service, so loading a page that shows one causes your browser to contact that service, which can see your IP address and the page you are viewing. This is a standard WordPress feature and can be turned off if preferred.

DongChannel should use service providers appropriate for the intended purpose and should not disclose personal information to third parties merely for unrelated purposes.

External Websites and Third-Party Services

DongChannel contains links to external websites.

These may include:

  • Software vendors.
  • Online services.
  • Affiliate merchants.
  • Affiliate networks.
  • Official documentation.
  • Other reference sources.

Once you leave DongChannel, we do not control the destination website.

External websites may have their own:

  • Privacy policies.
  • Cookie policies.
  • Tracking technologies.
  • Accounts.
  • Payment systems.
  • Data retention practices.

You should review the privacy information of those services when appropriate.

Data Sharing

DongChannel does not sell personal information merely because someone visits the website or sends us an email.

Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to:

  • Service providers supporting website operations.
  • Professional advisers where appropriate.
  • Authorities or other parties when required by applicable law.
  • Protect the rights, security or integrity of DongChannel or others.
  • Complete a legitimate business transfer if the website or relevant business assets are transferred in the future, subject to applicable requirements.

Any disclosure should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

Data Retention

DongChannel aims to keep personal information only for as long as there is a legitimate reason to retain it.

Retention may depend on:

  • The type of information.
  • Why it was collected.
  • Whether an enquiry remains active.
  • Security requirements.
  • Technical backup cycles.
  • Applicable contractual or legal obligations.
  • The need to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

When information is no longer reasonably required, it should be deleted, anonymized or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable requirements.

Specific infrastructure providers may apply their own technical log or backup retention periods.

Data Security

DongChannel takes reasonable steps appropriate to the nature of the website to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration.

Website security may include measures such as:

  • Secure hosting configuration.
  • HTTPS.
  • Access controls.
  • Software updates.
  • Backups.
  • Security monitoring or protections where configured.

However, no internet transmission, website or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

For that reason, DongChannel does not promise absolute or 100% security.

International Processing

The internet and the service providers used to operate a website can involve processing in more than one country.

Some service providers may process information outside Viet Nam or outside the country where a visitor is located.

Where applicable law imposes requirements on international transfers of personal data, DongChannel should use appropriate safeguards or service arrangements as required for the relevant processing.

Google Analytics is the one third-party service currently in use that involves this kind of processing. Google states that data from visitors in the European Union, Switzerland and the United Kingdom is collected through domains and servers located in those regions before being forwarded for processing, and that Google may process personal data in any country in which Google or its subprocessors maintain facilities. Where that involves a transfer out of the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism under its own published terms.

Your Privacy Rights

Your privacy rights depend on the law that applies to you and to the relevant processing activity.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights such as the right to:

  • Request information about how your personal data is processed.
  • Request access to certain personal data.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Request deletion in circumstances where the law provides that right.
  • Request restriction of certain processing.
  • Object to certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Request other rights provided by applicable personal data protection law.
  • Raise a concern with an appropriate data protection or regulatory authority where that right applies.

These rights are not absolute in every situation and may be subject to legal exceptions.

Viet Nam

DongChannel is operated from Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.

Personal data processing connected with DongChannel should be handled in accordance with applicable Vietnamese law, including the Law on Personal Data Protection where that law applies to the relevant activity.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy should be interpreted as a claim that a particular certification, government approval or independent legal compliance audit has been obtained.

Visitors From Other Jurisdictions

Privacy rules can differ by country and region.

For example, privacy rules may impose additional requirements where a website processes personal data of individuals in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom or other jurisdictions.

Where such laws apply to a specific processing activity, DongChannel should respect the applicable requirements.

This Privacy Policy does not attempt to remove or limit privacy rights that cannot legally be waived.

Children’s Privacy

DongChannel is intended for a general audience interested in software, online business tools and related services.

The website is not designed specifically for children.

DongChannel does not knowingly seek to collect sensitive personal information from children through its ordinary website content.

If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to DongChannel in circumstances where it should not be retained, please contact us so the situation can be reviewed.

Email Communications

If you send an ordinary email to DongChannel, the communication is processed through the email services used by you and DongChannel.

Email is not an appropriate channel for sending unnecessary highly sensitive credentials.

DongChannel does not currently use this Privacy Policy to imply that sending a one-time email automatically subscribes you to a marketing newsletter.

If a newsletter or marketing email program is introduced in the future, the website should implement appropriate notice, consent or opt-out mechanisms and update this policy as necessary.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

DongChannel may update this Privacy Policy when:

  • Website features change.
  • New services or providers are introduced.
  • Data processing practices change.
  • Applicable privacy requirements change.
  • The policy needs clarification.

The Last updated date should be changed when a material revision is published.

If a new processing activity materially changes how personal information is handled, the privacy information should be updated before or when that processing is introduced as required by applicable law.
