Editorial Policy

DongChannel publishes independent reviews, comparisons, buyer guides and practical content about software, online business tools and related services.

Our editorial policy explains how content is researched, written, reviewed, updated and corrected.

The goal is simple:

Publish useful information that helps readers make better decisions without allowing commercial relationships to control editorial conclusions.

Editorial Independence

DongChannel may earn revenue through affiliate partnerships.

Some links on the website may generate a commission if a reader clicks a link and later makes a purchase.

Affiliate compensation does not determine:

  • Whether a product receives positive or negative coverage.
  • The advantages or disadvantages we report.
  • The score or recommendation we give.
  • Whether a product is included in a buyer guide.
  • Whether one product is ranked above another.
  • Whether legitimate criticism is removed.

A product with a higher commission should not automatically receive better editorial treatment.

Some products covered on DongChannel may have affiliate programs. Others may not.

If DongChannel accepts sponsored content, paid placement or another commercial arrangement in the future, that relationship should be clearly disclosed and should not be presented as independent editorial judgment.

For more information, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

What We Publish

DongChannel primarily publishes four types of content.

Reviews

Reviews examine an individual product or service and may cover areas such as:

  • Key features
  • Pricing
  • Ease of use
  • Strengths
  • Limitations
  • Suitable users
  • Alternatives
  • Overall value

A review should explain not only what a product does, but also who it is appropriate for and where it may not be the best choice.

Comparisons

Comparisons evaluate two or more products against relevant criteria.

A comparison should make clear:

  • The main differences between the products.
  • Which product performs better for specific use cases.
  • Important trade-offs.
  • Situations where one product may be a better choice than another.

The goal is not to force one universal winner when different products serve different users.

Buyer Guides

Buyer guides may recommend multiple products for a specific category or use case.

Recommendations should be based on criteria relevant to the reader’s decision rather than affiliate payout alone.

Where appropriate, buyer guides should explain why each product was included and what type of user it is best suited for.

Practical Guides

Practical guides explain concepts, workflows, strategies or how-to processes related to software and online business.

They should distinguish factual instructions from opinion or experience.

Research Standards

Research may include:

  • Official product websites.
  • Official pricing pages.
  • Product documentation.
  • Help centers and knowledge bases.
  • Free plans and free trials.
  • Product demonstrations.
  • Hands-on use where available.
  • Publicly available technical information.
  • Vendor-provided factual information.
  • Direct comparison with competing products.
  • Other reliable primary sources relevant to the topic.

Whenever reasonably possible, important facts such as pricing, product availability, plan limits and major features should be checked against official or primary sources.

Secondary sources may be used for additional context, but important claims should not rely on low-quality summaries when stronger sources are available.

Hands-On Testing and Research-Based Evaluations

DongChannel does not claim that every product mentioned on the website has been purchased or tested hands-on.

Content may be based on a combination of:

  • Hands-on use.
  • Product demonstrations.
  • Free trials.
  • Official documentation.
  • Publicly available information.
  • Research and comparison.

When hands-on testing has not been performed, DongChannel should not describe research-based findings as personal product experience.

If an article contains first-hand observations, they should reflect actual use rather than invented experience.

For more information about the evaluation process, see How We Review.

Accuracy

DongChannel aims to publish accurate information at the time content is researched and updated.

However, software companies may change:

  • Pricing.
  • Features.
  • Plan names.
  • Product limits.
  • Terms.
  • Availability.
  • Integrations.
  • Policies.

Because these details can change without notice, some published information may become outdated after publication.

Where practical, important product information should be rechecked when an article is materially updated.

Sources

When a factual claim depends on a product’s official documentation or another important source, DongChannel may link to that source or otherwise make the basis of the claim clear.

Priority should generally be given to:

  1. Official vendor documentation.
  2. Official pricing and product pages.
  3. Official support documentation.
  4. Direct product access or demonstrations.
  5. Other credible sources where necessary.

Marketing claims should not automatically be treated as independently verified facts.

For example, a vendor statement that a product is “the fastest,” “the best,” or “trusted by millions” should not be repeated as an objective conclusion unless there is an appropriate basis for doing so.

Opinions and Recommendations

Some content on DongChannel contains editorial judgment.

Statements such as:

  • “Best for beginners”
  • “Better value”
  • “Easier to use”
  • “Best for larger teams”

are inherently evaluative.

When making recommendations, DongChannel should explain the reasoning and the criteria behind the conclusion whenever practical.

A recommendation should not be presented as a universal fact if it depends on a reader’s budget, experience or use case.

Product Scores and Ratings

If DongChannel assigns a numerical score or rating to a product, that score should reflect the evaluation methodology used for that article or content type.

Scores should not be increased because:

  • A vendor offers a higher commission.
  • A vendor provides an affiliate partnership.
  • A company requests a better rating.
  • A product pays for exposure.

If the scoring methodology changes materially, older scores may not be directly comparable with newer scores until those articles are reviewed under the updated methodology.

For more information about scoring and evaluation criteria, see How We Review.

AI-Assisted Work

DongChannel may use software and AI tools to assist with parts of the editorial workflow, such as:

  • Research organization.
  • Summarization.
  • Draft assistance.
  • Formatting.
  • Grammar and readability improvements.
  • Comparing structured product information.
  • Identifying areas that require further verification.

AI-generated output should not automatically be treated as a verified factual source.

Important factual claims should be checked against appropriate sources before publication when verification is reasonably possible.

AI tools should not be used to invent:

  • Hands-on testing.
  • Customer experiences.
  • Product results.
  • Statistics.
  • Quotes.
  • Partnerships.
  • Credentials.
  • Sources that do not exist.

Responsibility for published content remains with DongChannel, regardless of which tools were used during production.

Vendor and Affiliate Manager Input

Vendors, affiliate managers and product representatives may provide:

  • Updated pricing.
  • Product documentation.
  • Feature information.
  • Screenshots.
  • Demo access.
  • Trial access.
  • Corrections.
  • Partnership information.

Providing information does not give a company editorial control over DongChannel content.

DongChannel may independently verify submitted information before updating an article.

A vendor may request correction of a factual error, but may not purchase removal of legitimate criticism.

Sponsored and Paid Content

If DongChannel accepts sponsored or paid content in the future, the commercial relationship should be clearly disclosed.

Sponsored content should not be designed to make paid promotion appear to be an independent review.

Paid relationships do not guarantee:

  • Positive recommendations.
  • High ratings.
  • Permanent placement.
  • Preferential rankings in independent editorial content.

Conflicts of Interest

Potential conflicts of interest should be considered when they could reasonably affect the credibility of a recommendation.

Where relevant, DongChannel should disclose material commercial relationships.

Affiliate commissions are addressed through the website’s Affiliate Disclosure.

Corrections

DongChannel welcomes well-supported factual corrections.

A correction request should ideally include:

  • The URL of the affected page.
  • The information believed to be incorrect.
  • The corrected information.
  • A reliable source supporting the correction.

Correction requests may be submitted through the Contact page.

DongChannel may verify the submitted information before making a change.

Not every disagreement requires a correction.

Differences in opinion, preference or product ranking may remain editorial judgments unless the underlying factual information is incorrect.

Updating Existing Content

Content may be updated when:

  • Product pricing changes.
  • Major features change.
  • A plan is discontinued.
  • Important new information becomes available.
  • A factual error is identified.
  • The article no longer reflects the current product.
  • The comparison set or recommendation criteria materially changes.

Minor wording or formatting changes do not necessarily require a visible update note.

For significant editorial changes, DongChannel may update the article’s modified date or include an appropriate note where useful.

Content That Should Not Be Published

DongChannel should not knowingly publish:

  • Fabricated product testing.
  • Fake testimonials.
  • Fake customer reviews.
  • Invented statistics.
  • Invented quotes.
  • Fake author identities.
  • Fake credentials.
  • Fake partnerships.
  • Misleading affiliate disclosures.
  • Plagiarized content.
  • Claims copied from marketing materials and presented as independently verified facts without appropriate basis.
  • Paid promotion disguised as independent editorial opinion.

Authors and Responsibility

Published content should have a clearly identifiable author or responsible editorial owner.

Authors and contributors are expected to follow this Editorial Policy.

DongChannel should not create fake author profiles or pretend to have a larger editorial team than actually exists.

For information about the people responsible for DongChannel content, see the Authors page.

Reader Responsibility

DongChannel aims to provide useful research and editorial guidance, but readers should still consider their own requirements before purchasing a product or service.

Software suitability depends on factors such as:

  • Budget.
  • Business size.
  • Technical requirements.
  • Location.
  • Use case.
  • Integrations.
  • Experience level.

A recommendation on DongChannel should not replace a reader’s own evaluation of whether a product is suitable for their specific situation.
